Trauma & PTSD Therapy in Horsham, West Sussex
Trauma has a way of staying with us long after the event itself has passed. You might find yourself startled by things others don't notice, avoiding situations that feel vaguely threatening, or feeling disconnected from yourself and the people around you. Perhaps certain memories or feelings seem to appear out of nowhere, or you've noticed that your reactions sometimes feel bigger than the situation seems to call for.
These are not signs of weakness. They are signs that something happened that was too much to process at the time — and that your mind and body are still trying to keep you safe.
Working with trauma requires particular care and attunement. I work relationally, which means the therapeutic relationship itself is central to the healing process. Rather than pushing you to revisit painful material before you are ready, we work at a pace that feels safe — building trust, developing your capacity to stay grounded, and gradually creating the conditions in which deeper processing can happen.
My approach draws on Relational Transactional Analysis, psychodynamic thinking, and a deep respect for how the body and mind hold difficult experience. I am also considering EMDR training as a further addition to my trauma-informed practice.
I offer face-to-face trauma therapy in Horsham and online sessions across West Sussex and the wider UK.
