CONFIDENTIALITY AGREEMENT

All sessions are confidential and follow G.D.P.R. 2018.

 

There are, however some limits to confidentiality:

Clinical notes are stored for seven years. 

As a trainee Psychotherapists I regularly present my work in clinical supervision. The aim of this is to monitor and improve the clinical work undertaken. All supervision is done on a confidential basis and only using the client's first name.

I may at times need to contact your GP or another medical professional. This would normally be done with your permission and discussed in the session prior to any contact. However, if yours or another person's safety were severely jeopardised, I may need to contact external services without prior discussion with you.

There are some legal limits to confidentiality such as the Prevention of Terrorism and Drug Trafficking Acts 

In a court of law a counsellor/ psychotherapist may be required to answer questions about a client.

In the case of death, sudden illness or accident my U.K.C.P. registered professional executor will have access to your records in order to contact you. They also abide to G.D.P.R. 2018
