LGBTQ+ Affirming Therapy in Horsham, West Sussex
A space where everybody is welcome
Finding a therapist you can trust with all aspects of your identity matters enormously. If you identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, queer, non-binary, or anywhere within the broad and varied spectrum of human experience, you deserve a therapeutic space where you won't need to explain yourself, justify your identity, or make yourself smaller.
My practice is explicitly LGBTQ+ affirming. This means I approach gender and sexuality with genuine openness, respect, and a non-pathologising stance. I will never treat your identity as the problem — or as something to be examined as if it were unusual or in need of explanation.
What brings LGBTQ+
clients to therapy
People come to therapy for all kinds of reasons and being LGBTQ+ doesn't define what brings you here. That said, there are experiences many LGBTQ+ people share that therapy can be particularly helpful in exploring — coming out at any stage of life; navigating family rejection or strained relationships; internalised shame and its long-term impact on self-worth; exploring gender identity or dysphoria; the cumulative weight of discrimination, microaggressions, or minority stress; relationship dynamics within LGBTQ+ partnerships; trauma connected to identity; or simply wanting a therapist who already gets it, so you don't have to spend sessions educating them.
My approach
I work relationally, which means the quality and safety of our therapeutic relationship is at the heart of everything. Drawing on Relational Transactional Analysis and humanistic principles, our work together is collaborative, curious, and grounded in deep respect for your experience and autonomy.
I also have personal experience of navigating identity in contexts that weren't always affirming — which informs my understanding of what it genuinely means to need a space that feels truly safe.
I offer face-to-face sessions in Horsham and online therapy across West Sussex and the UK.
