Therapy for OCD & Eating Disorders in Horsham
OCD and eating disorders are both conditions where the mind develops powerful, repetitive patterns — often as a way of managing anxiety, distress, or a deep sense of not being safe or good enough. Though they are very different in their expression, both can take up enormous amounts of mental and emotional space, and both can leave you feeling trapped, exhausted, and ashamed.
Whatever your experience, you deserve support that takes it seriously — without judgement.
How can I help
My approach to both OCD and eating disorders is relational and exploratory. Rather than focusing solely on behaviour change, we work to understand the roots of your experience and to build a different, kinder relationship with yourself over time. I draw on Relational Transactional Analysis and psychodynamic thinking, and I work at a pace that respects your readiness.
I offer face-to-face sessions in Horsham and online therapy across West Sussex and the UK.
Living with OCD
Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder goes far beyond the stereotypes. It can involve intrusive thoughts that feel deeply disturbing or contrary to your values, rituals and compulsions that temporarily relieve anxiety but ultimately reinforce the cycle, or a persistent sense that something is wrong or not quite right. OCD can be exhausting and isolating, and many people suffer in silence for years before seeking help.
In therapy we work to understand the function of your OCD — what it is trying to protect you from — and to gradually loosen its grip in a way that feels manageable and safe.
Living with an eating disorder
Eating disorders are rarely just about food. They are often expressions of deeper struggles with control, self-worth, emotional pain, or the need to feel safe in your own body. Whether you are living with anorexia, bulimia, binge eating, or a more complex and unnamed relationship with food, therapy can offer a space to explore what lies beneath — with compassion and without pressure.
