Group therapy in Horsham
A small, ongoing therapy group for adults who want to understand themselves better in relationship — with others and with themselves. Drawing on Relational Transactional Analysis, this is a space for honest exploration, not instruction.
What is a process group?
Unlike a course or workshop, this group has no fixed curriculum. The group itself is the therapy — what happens between people in the room becomes the material we work with. Patterns that show up in your life tend to show up here too, and that's where real change becomes possible.
Sessions are open-ended and member-led. You bring what matters to you. The group responds. Over time, most people notice shifts not just in self-awareness but in how they relate to others outside the room.
The theoretical approach
The group is facilitated using Relational Transactional Analysis (TA) — a model that explores how early relational experiences shape the patterns we carry into adult life. You don't need any knowledge of TA to take part. The framework operates in the background; the foreground is simply you, the other group members, and whatever arises between you.
The group is neurodivergent-affirming. If you identify as ADHD, autistic, dyslexic, or otherwise neurodivergent, you are very welcome — and your way of being in the world will be met with curiosity rather than correction.
Practical details
Sessions run fortnightly at Bodywise, 16 Church Street, Warnham, Horsham. The fee is £40 per person per session, regardless of attendance on the day.
Session length is determined by the group's capacity, not by who attends on a given day. A group of six runs for 110 minutes; a group of eight runs for 140 minutes. For eample: If two members of an eight-person group are absent, the session still runs for the full 140 minutes — the time belongs to the group, not the headcount.
Before joining, you will be invited to a one-to-one assessment session. This gives us both a chance to explore whether the group is a good fit for where you are right now, and to prepare you for what the experience involves.
Confidentiality within the group
Everything shared in the group stays in the group. All members agree to this as a condition of joining — it is not a guideline but a commitment. This means you can speak freely without concern that what you say will be discussed outside the room.
The facilitator holds the same confidentiality as in individual therapy, with the same limited exceptions required by professional ethics (such as serious risk of harm). These will be explained clearly at assessment.
One important nuance: while you are free to talk about your own experience of the group, you are asked not to identify or describe other members to people outside. Their privacy matters as much as yours.

Common questions
Do I need to be in individual therapy already?
No. The group works as a standalone therapy. Some members combine it with individual work; others do not. We'll explore this together at the assessment.
What if I miss a session?
Life happens. Please give as much notice as possible. The fee applies whether or not you attend — your place is reserved, and the group's time runs as scheduled.
How long do people usually stay in the group?
This is an open-ended group with no fixed endpoint. Some members stay for months; others for years. You decide when you are ready to leave, and endings are always worked through properly within the group.
Is the group suitable for men?
Yes. The group is open to all adults regardless of gender. Groups work best with some diversity of life experience, and men often find group therapy to be an unexpectedly powerful space.
